Cory partners with REWORK to launch online shop bringing refurbished appliances to households

Cory has partnered with Groundwork London’s REWORK project to launch a new online shop, selling high-quality and affordable refurbished household appliances, such as fridges, freezers, cookers, and washing machines.

Established in 2012, REWORK has become one of the UK’s leading domestic appliance repair and refurbishment hubs. The project has refurbished over 58,000 electrical items and diverted 46,000 items of furniture and bicycles from landfill, preventing 43,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions. As part of its social mission, REWORK has also created vital employment and training opportunities for local residents.

The investment and partnership with REWORK reflect Cory’s ongoing commitment to reducing waste, championing resource efficiency, and delivering long-term value to the communities it serves.

Alongside the new website, REWORK also operates an eBay store, offering replacement parts to help customers repair rather than replace their appliances, further reducing unnecessary waste.

Helen Murphy, Head of Sustainability at Cory, said: "We’re excited to support REWORK’s next step in delivering real, practical reuse solutions at scale. Across London, we are seeing increasing demand for second-hand items and a real shift towards waste prevention. By supporting REWORK’s expansion, we’re helping to make reuse more mainstream, more accessible, and more impactful.”

Graham Parry, Director of Youth, Employment & Skills at Groundwork London, said: “At Groundwork London, we’re at the forefront of practical climate action. Through REWORK, we’ve been repairing, refurbishing and reusing for over a decade. This new online shop is a bold step forward, and thanks to the investment and support from Cory, all Londoners can now buy directly from us and be part of a more sustainable future.”
